Job Title: Finance Assistant –Part Time (3/4 days a week)

Role Summary:
A vital part of the operational finance team this role will include running the day to day activities of the Purchase and Sales ledger cycles, ensuring risks are minimised through strong processes and those remaining escalated to senior management in a timely manner.
Tasks & Activities:
- Coding, processing, and arranging approval of all purchase ledger items through the finance system
- Issuing of ad hoc sales invoices and credit notes and ensuring accuracy prior to inputting into the finance system
- Preparing BACs payments (weekly), CHAPS payments (ad-hoc)
- Send remittances to suppliers, update internal systems with payment details
- Management of the purchase ledger inbox in outlook / day to day liaison point for suppliers
- Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger and ensure any discrepancies are investigated and rectified fully
- Own queries from suppliers to ensure any issues are resolved promptly
- Providing accurate monthly reports to the Transaction Manager prior to distribution (Aged Creditors)
- Set up new customer and supplier accounts and maintain accurate account details within the purchase/sales ledger
- Setup & verify new bank details for Suppliers and update the Sage records
- Assisting with ad-hoc duties as requested

Experience & Skills required:
- Able to work with colleagues and independently and accurately in a growing business
- A minimum educational requirement of GCSE Maths andEnglish (A-C)
- Minimum of 18mths experience in a similar role
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literate with good intermediate Excel skills (Vlook-ups, pivot tables) and solid understanding of Sage and accounting software principles. Note Sage will be replaced with anew finance system in 2022
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will be required to communicate and work with colleagues throughout the business at all levels
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and the ability to get the job done whilst working in a small team

- Salary: £21-£25k + depending on experience (salary to be prorated)
